Horse Speak “First Conversations” Intro Clinic **3 Spots Left**
October 8 @ 9:30 am - October 10 @ 4:30 pm
Learn the authentic language of horses
Everything horses say to each other they say to us. Horse Speak Senior Instructor Heidi Potter will teach you how to listen to what they are saying and how to respond in a way that they can understand. A few basic “vocabulary words”, a willingness to listen, and an open heart and mind are all you need to enter the conversation.
Facility horses are provided for this non-riding clinic which includes workshops in theory, interactive exercises with humans, herd observation, interpretation, and communication with horses at liberty and in-hand.
Everyone from experienced horse people to horse lovers with no riding or hands-on experience are welcome. Whether you show horses, own horses, volunteer at rescues or are involved in the equine therapy world, this non-riding retreat will inspire you. It will teach you how to offer horses enrichment and support them mentally, emotionally, and physically.
What You Will Learn:
- Gestures, Postures & Signals-Horses have established protocols that they use in communication. Discover how we can mimic them, open the door to conversations and see immediate results.
- The 15 Buttons of Horse Speak-Learning the most used “Buttons” of communication on the horse’s body allows you to offer clear and precise comments, directions, and support to every horse.
- The 4 G’s of Horse Speak-Horse conversations are cyclical. Learning the 4-G’s of communication allows you to follow their protocol.
- Self-Awareness, Mindfulness & Congruency-Feelings create the “look” and horses most care about how it “feels” in any given moment. Self-awareness of what you bring energetically, emotionally, mentally, and physically to the horse is where it all begins. Learn techniques to help you bring a more relaxed, grounded, centered and mindful presence to the horse in every situation.
