Centered Riding/Holistic Horsemanship Retreat

Join Heidi Potter for a memorable, all-inclusive week-long retreat at the beautiful Wyoming Bitterroot Ranch. Immerse yourself in horses by being and living with over 200 horses of varying ages, breeds, abilities, and training levels. Heidi will guide 8 retreat guests to a deeply enriching and connected way of “being” with horses. Her mindful, holistic approach to horses has evolved over her 50+ years of experience. In 2017 she added in teaching the principals of Horse Speak® as created by founder Sharon Wilsie. Learning and practicing this kinesthetic, truly natural language of horses in such a natural setting is simply magical. Participants leave with a new understanding of their equine friends and skills to deepen rapport, improve trust and add enrichment to every interaction.
This retreat includes daily workshops, interacting with horses on the ground and at liberty, and riding sessions. Guests will improve their overall balance, confidence & comfort with 4 Centered Riding© lessons, and 2 Guided Trail rides in the vast Wyoming countryside. Riders skill level must be that of “Advanced Beginners”, able to control a horse at the walk. and have some experience riding and controlling at the trot/jog.
Accommodations include living in cozy, rustic cabins surrounded by mountains and streams, wholesome, healthy meals, baby pasture visits and night visits up on the bench with the big herd. Optional activities include Yoga, attending a rodeo in town, square dancing night and cattle sorting.

**Please get approval from your Doctor if you currently have asthma, COPD, any heart conditions or are at risk for any ill effects of high altitudes. The ranch is located in a remote area surrounded by mountains with an elevation of 7400′. The week will include a fair amount of walking and a steep hike up to the “bench” on one evening. Participants should be fit enough to walk and hike.
